The Greendale Public library is a member of the Milwaukee County Federated Library System. We are a medium sized library located in the heart of the Village of Greendale's beautiful downtown civic area, just a little south of the Southridge Shopping Mall.

  • Public Access PCs and Internet Access

    Greendale Pubic Library offers free WiFi access, public access computers, computers for searching our catalog, and wireless Mac laptops for in-library use.
    Public access computers in the Adult Department have:
    • Internet
    • Microsoft Office 2003 (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Online Resources
    • Black & white and color printing (.15¢ a page for b&w, .75¢ a page for color)

  • ValueLine Investment Survey’s Small and Mid-Cap Edition

    The Greendale Public Library has recently added the ValueLine Investment Survey’s Small and Mid-Cap Edition to its investment collection. Geared toward individual investors and designed to enhance their standard Investment Survey, this weekly publication features consensus earning estimates, business descriptions, and Performance Ranks.

    Greendale Public Library subscribes to many online resources designed to help you with your informational needs. Free access to these resources is available to Greendale residents for use in the Library or from your home or office via the Library’s web site www.greendalepubliclibrary.org.

  • E-Books

    e-book
    Digital ebooks are available via the CountyCat subscription to netLibrary and are available to be read online through a Web browser at any public library in Milwaukee County. The MCFLS collection of netLibrary ebooks can also be accessed and read remotely by any library card holder in the MCFLS system. However, you are required to first visit any public library within MCFLS to create a netLibrary user account. Click here to learn more about netLibrary.

  • WATTS UP? Power analyzer and watt meter

    The Greendale Public Library now has our own Watts up power analyzer and watt meter which is an electricity monitor. It is a state of the art digital microprocessor, which measures both voltage and current measurements for true power. It will measure any 120 VAC appliance. The meter will be shelved at the Circulation desk and can be checked out for one week. Any questions can be directed to the Circulation staff or to the Reference Librarian.

  • Magnifcation System

    The Greendale Public Library has a video magnifier for public use. The VideoEye Power Magnification System enlarges any item onto the 27 inch screen in black and white or color, allowing patrons to see whatever they bring in more clearly: newspapers, mail, prescription bottles, etc. We would like to thank the Greendale Lions Club for their generous donation of this equipment.

  • E-Mail Your Information Questions and Reserves

    In addition to Ask?Away, which is intended as an off-hours service, you can also email information questions or reserve requests directly to our Information Desk. We check our e-mail once an hour and respond as time allows. Reserves will be entered on your record and the library will notify you when your material is available for pick up.

    As a member of the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium, Greendale Public Library is pleased to offer OverDrive Media. OverDrive allows you to select and download audiobooks, films and music to play directly on your home computer, play on an MP3 or iPod player, or burn to a CD.
